Schmitt, Strauss, and the Neoconservatives: A Critique of Liberalism

Theme: This lecture focused on a genre of critique of the liberal parliamentary systems. It began by the presentation of Carl Schmitt's critiques against liberalism, then turned to Leo Strauss' concerns about the liberal culture in USA and offered to read these concerns in close relation with Schmittian thinking. In the last part of the lecture, the neoconservative outlook is also presented and the commonalities between neoconservatism and the Schmittian-Straussian line of thought was underlined.
An Introduction to Marxism
